2 more schools face sanctions over AYP testing
DURHAM -- Two more schools than originally disclosed are facing sanctions for failure to meet No Child Left Behind requirements, raising the total to 16, Durham Public Schools officials said. All 16 are elementary schools.

Car dealerships feeling the pinch
DURHAM -- "In times like these, there have been times like these," is the message Robert Glaser, president of the North Carolina Automobile Dealers Association, hopes to get across to the 700 dealerships in the state that are feeling pinched this summer.

Carolina North building's plan 'not special enough'
CHAPEL HILL -- The Innovation Center is heading back to the drawing board. Asked by UNC Chapel Hill administrators to give design approval to the 85,000-square-foot business incubator -- the first expected construction at the new Carolina North campus and occupant of a marquee location at the entrance to that campus -- the UNC Board of Trustees on Wednesday instead declared the renderings "not special enough."
